With the opening of the terraces and garden areas, the evening curfew will not be lifted, the deputy head of the on-call center of the operational board responsible for the control of the coronavirus epidemic drew attention to the online press conference.

Róbert Kiss said that as soon as the number of vaccinated persons reached 3.5 million, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, head of the operational staff, stated in an administrative decision published in the Hungarian Gazette that the number of vaccinated persons had reached the second stage of phasing out protection measures.

In this stage the terraces and garden areas can be open from 5 am to 9.30 pm, guests do not have to wear a mask, only indoors, where they can stay for the time necessary to take the ordered food and drink and use the restroom. However, operators and employees are required to wear a mask throughout the restaurant. He stressed that with the opening of the terraces and garden areas, the curfew will not be lifted, everyone must arrive home by 10 p.m.

Róbert Kiss also drew attention to the fact that for non-compliance with the rules in the restaurants, the operators can be fined from HUF 100,000 to HUF 1 million, while the guests can be fined from HUF 5,000 to HUF 500,000 and may temporarily close the restaurant. The on-site restaurant and bar can only serve business guests at the property, he said.

The rules on the obligation to wear a mask, the ban on events, accommodation, leisure facilities and higher education institutions, as well as the provisions on the curfew will remain in force.
