The county councils are mainainers of many medical, educational, cultural and social institutes, but according to the plans of the Hungarian State, this will change.
The agreement made by 19 county coulncil presidents and the prime minister contains that all these institutes are to get into the hands of the state. The affected institutions are schools, libraries, museums, hospitals and many others.
In Hajdú-Bihar County, 13 cultural, educational, medical and social institutions, and 3 economic companies will be taken by the State.
The president of the council also talked about the Déry Museum and the world-famous Munkácsy trilogy. Only one of the three paintings is in the ownership of the county, the other two are privately owned. The state culture politics has taken part in the discussions about holding the three pieces together so far, but from now, the role of the county will be reduced.
